Carl J. Emling

Carl J.Emling, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:05 P.M., Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Carl was a retired factory worker at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in St Charles and had worked at United Electric Coal Co. in Du Quoin. He was a charter member of the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin.
He was born January 23, 1910 at Du Quoin, IL the son of William and Otillie ( Derman ) Emling.
He married Mildred B. Weisel on August 28, 1932 at Benton, IL, she passed away January 15, 1993.
He is survived by a daughter- Mary Jo Varnum of Du Quoin, sister- Emma Lewis of Edwardsville, daughter-in-law- Ann Emling of Biloxi, Miss., close friend- Jim Arbuckle of Du Quoin, close friend- Wanda Williams of Du Quoin, seven grandchildren- Carla Marciniak of Bellevue, Neb., Kim Queen of Metropolis, Kenneth Emling of Glendale, Arz., Carol Emling of Biloxi, Miss., William Emling of Harrah, Okla., Jill Daughtry of Hilliard, FL, Nancy Das of Farmington, Mich., twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Kenneth Emling, brother Fred Emling, sister Louise Lively.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, 2001 at the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 10 A.M. until time of service at the church on Saturday.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Spirit of Life Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
